Hi, I am Dr. Sheela Joshi, a licensed psychologist licensed in Texas and Florida. My passion is helping adults and couples find calm and clarity during life’s inevitable ups and downs. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, adjusting to a new phase of life, or managing stress that feels overwhelming, I can provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and move toward balance.
My therapeutic approach blends evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Mindfulness-Based techniques with a warm, collaborative style. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way, build practical coping skills, and help you reconnect with what truly matters to you.
Before joining VCS, I worked extensively within the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System specializing in trauma and stress-related disorders. My experience at Nova Southeastern University, where I earned both my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, included specialized training in mood/anxiety management, couple therapy, psychological testing, and other services. My training also taught me to view mental health through both an individual and relational lens. Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel heard, empowered, and capable of navigating whatever life throws your way—with purpose and for purpose.
My ideal clients are adults or couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, or life transitions—whether it’s a career shift, relationship change, or simply feeling stuck in their life choices. They often want to understand themselves better, develop healthier coping strategies, and regain a sense of control and peace. Many of my clients appear to “have it all together” on the outside but feel overwhelmed or unfulfilled on the inside. They’re ready for a safe space to pause, reflect, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I help clients manage anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and major life transitions through evidence-based, compassionate care. Together, we’ll work to quiet the mental noise, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop tools that help you feel grounded, confident, and in control again.
If you are navigating a new chapter or simply feeling overwhelmed, therapy can be a space to pause, gain perspective, and rediscover your sense of self. If you’re ready to start feeling more balanced and connected, I’d be honored to work with you.
