I graduated from the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at the University at Albany in 2020. I completed my internship at Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston HealthCare System, where I received specialized training in substance use treatment, trauma-focused therapies, and psychological treatments for health issues such as insomnia, chronic pain, smoking cessation, and weight loss. Following my internship, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, where I continued to focus on specialized treatment for PTSD and substance use disorders, as well as psychological assessment. Since finishing my training, I have worked in a primary care clinic, providing mental health treatment to veterans for a wide range of presenting concerns.
In addition to my clinical work, I am actively engaged in research. My published papers have focused on substance use (specifically marijuana, alcohol, and nicotine) and associated diagnosis such as PTSD. My current projects aim to understand the perceptions and knowledge of both patients and mental health providers on psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) and the role of artificial intelligence in the mental health field.
I work with individuals who want to make meaningful changes in their lives. First by understanding where you are in the change process, we will collaborate to identify your values and goals, as well as create a plan to help you live a life aligned with them. Therapy with me is an active process. Together, we will establish clear goals, challenge unhelpful patterns, and develop practical skills that empower you to manage life’s challenges with increased confidence and clarity. In our work together, you can expect a supportive, open, and non-judgmental space. I will provide structure, tools, and compassionate guidance, while you contribute your experiences, willingness to engage, and courage to grow.
In my practice, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). During our first meeting, we will discuss what brought you to treatment and collaboratively create a plan to help you achieve your goals. Through CBT, we will work together to understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how they impact your experiences. Throughout our sessions, you will learn strategies to identify and change unhelpful patterns, helping you meet your goals and feel better.
